Two Rowan-Cabarrus Community College Students Receive National Future Business Leaders/Phi Beta Lambda Award

Rowan County, N.C. (WBTV) – Two Rowan-Cabarrus Community College students received national awards at the 2022 Future Business Leaders of America/Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference. Jadyn Koranteng and Jeremy Post compete with students from across the United States in the Chicago competition.

Sarah Humble joined Koranteng and Post as part of the Rowan-Cabarrus student delegation. Chad Nichols, a faculty advisor who serves as Director of Administrative Services for North Carolina Phi Beta Lambda and a member of the State Awards Program Committee, accompanies the students.

Jeremy Post was ranked #1 in the Community Service Project category, #3 in Information Management, and #8 in Public Speaking. Post has served as President of the Rowan-Cabarrus PBL Chapter and is Vice President of Membership for Phi Beta Lambda, North Carolina.

Koranteng ranked fifth in the impromptu speaking category and ninth in organizational behavior and leadership.

During the conference, the Rowan-Cabarrus Phi Beta Lambda Chapter was also awarded the National Gold Seal and placed fourth in the local annual business report category.

“These students have done an excellent job representing the College and we are very proud of their performance and professionalism,” said Dr. Rowan-Cabarrus President Carol S. Spalding. “Competitors come from all over the world — from small community colleges to major universities — so when our students receive national awards, it speaks volumes about their dedication and ability.”

Phi Beta Lambda is the university division of FBLA-PBL dedicated to inspiring and developing the next generation of leaders by preparing them for careers in business and business-related fields. Each year, the organization helps more than 230,000 members prepare for the business world.
