White House chief of staff Ron Kline is expected to step down in the next few weeks, The New York Times reported Saturday.

The veteran political figure’s tenure has been marked by a string of key legislative accomplishments from the White House and his penchant for delivering opinions on a variety of topics at all hours of the day. Klein became a central figure in the West Wing and a trusted advisor to President Joe Biden on decisions big and small.

The White House did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment.
