Twitter Account Suspended for Tracking Elon Musk’s Private Jet | Tech News

A Twitter account tracking Elon Musk’s private jet has been suspended.

This automated robot named @ElonJet was set up by a college student in Florida to draw Founder of Tesla and SpaceXs plane.

Earlier this year, before he began taking over the platform, Musk asked for it to be taken down.

He described the account as a “security risk” and even offered money in exchange, but the teen quipped that the payment wasn’t a substitute for the satisfaction he got from operating the account.

On Wednesday, more than 10 months later, it seemed Musk finally got his wish.

Access to the account now shows that it has been suspended because it violated Twitter’s rules.

The account’s owner, Jack Sweeney, claimed days before the suspension that the account had been “shadow banned,” meaning its reach was severely limited.

Like other accounts run by Mr. Sweeney, it has been sharing details of Musk’s plane, including its route and distance traveled, its carbon dioxide emissions and how much jet fuel it used.

He also runs bot accounts that track the jets of Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates, though he insists they don’t track the people who are actually on the planes.
