Deborah A. Brown shared a video on Facebook showing damage to a street in Selma, Alabama, after a tornado ripped through the city on Thursday.
A woman can be heard off-camera describing her ordeal. She said she was at the tax office when the tornado hit, and people inside took shelter in closets.
“We could have gone, y’all,” the woman can be heard saying in the video. “We had to run for cover. We had to run and jump into a closet.”
Video showed vehicles with shattered windows and other debris from buildings visible on the road.
The woman was repeatedly heard thanking God for her survival.
“I’ve never been so scared in my life, but I keep praying,” she said.
