Jennifer Aniston has paid tribute to her actor dad John, calling him ‘one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever known’ at the age of 89.
John Aniston, the Emmy Award-winning star of the daytime soap “Days of Our Lives,” is a U.S. Navy veteran.
In touching tribute on Instagram, his daughter Friends star jennifer Wrote: “Dear Papa…John Anthony Aniston. You are one of the most beautiful people I have ever known.
“I’m grateful that you flew up to heaven peacefully – no pain. Nov 11 [Armistice Day and US Veterans’ Day] No less! You always have perfect timing.
“That number will always mean more to me now.”
John Aniston was born Yannis Anastassakis in Crete, Greece, and his family immigrated to Pennsylvania as a child.
He is best known for his role as Victor Kyriakis on Days of Our Lives, but his credits include Finding Tomorrow, The West Wing and Gilmore Girls.
His performance in Victor was recognized in 2017 when he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Earlier this year, John received a Daytime Emmy for Lifetime Achievement for his role on the show.
In addition to Jennifer, whom John shares with his first wife and actress Nancy Dow, John also has a son, Alexander, with his second wife Shirley Rooney.
