She wrote: “My beautiful, smart, fierce, talented and loving sister-in-law Nicky Icox Raab passed away yesterday, and my brother Matt Raab was by her side.

“Nicki and Matt are living a wonderful life together in California. She is an absolute fighter and everyone who knows her loves her.”

Her sister-in-law also posted a collection of photos of Aycox, including photos of her with her two sons and husband, as well as photos of her early career as a professional actress.

Icox was diagnosed with leukemia in 2020 and underwent chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant.

The actress has documented her cancer journey on Instagram, sharing photos and videos of her treatment, as well as the hikes and yoga she enjoys while battling the disease.

The last Instagram post she shared in March was a short video of her singing Whitesnake’s hit Here I Go Again, with the message: “Don’t try to sing ’80s music after taking high-dose chemo.”

Icox is best known for her role on Supernatural, where she played Master Meg from 2006 to 2008.

Eric Kripke, creator of the dark fantasy series, paid tribute to her on Twitter, writing: “To hear the great Nicky Iacox, our first Master Meg, has passed away. Too young .

“She was a delight and delivered lines like honey and venom. I marveled at how she turned a simple word like ‘lacklustre’ into legend.”

Actor Jim Beaver, who played Bobby Singer on the show, added: “My first supernatural show was with Nicky. She’s an amazing actress and a delight to work with. To hear her I am saddened by the news of the death. Sleep well, my friend.”

Icox was born in Hennessey, Oklahoma, and grew up singing and playing the piano.

Early television appearances include 3rd Rock From The Sun, Boy Meets World, Ally McBeal, and The X Files, with a recurring role on Providence.

Film credits include the psychotic cheerleader in Jeepers Creepers 2 and the perfect stranger, the woman who tries to blackmail Bruce Willis’ wealthy advertising executive.

Other appearances include Law & Order, Dark Angel, CSI: CSI, The Twilight Saga, LAX, Criminal Minds and CSI: Miami.
