Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins could barely contain his excitement when he was asked on a Friday morning video call what it was like for the team to see Darmar Hamlin again.

“We got our boy, man!!! That’s all that matters! We got our boy!” Dawkins enthused during a call with reporters Friday afternoon. “Excitement is beautiful, it’s great. It gives us so much energy, so much radiance, high spirits, whatever you want to call it, it allows us to see the boy’s face. To see him smile, Seeing him on camera like this (flexing the biceps) is everything.”

“And then hearing him talk to us, that’s everything, that’s all we need. Literally, that’s all we need.”

Dawkins described the emotions of the past week as “a rollercoaster ride that has never been ridden.”

“You can really go from the saddest you can really feel to the happiest you can feel in a brief, intense period of time,” Dawkins said. “The saddest thing is that you don’t really know what to do The saddest of sorrows.”

“It’s far from over, but the good thing about it is that whatever you call it a roller coaster, it’s a positive energy,” he continued. “We’re on a positive ride right now, where we see To our guys, and we see #3 (Hamlin) smiling, that’s what we really want, you know? He’s with us, all we can ask is him to move forward.”

“It’s still very emotional for a lot of people, we’re happy, we’re lucky and grateful,” Dawkins added.

Asked about Hamlin’s Toy Foundation donating more than $7 million, Dawkins emphasized, “Amazing!”
