Driver ejected to death after hitting parked truck in East End, police say

San Antonio – A male driver was killed Monday morning after being ejected from a parked truck on the city’s East Side after a crash, San Antonio police said.

The accident happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 500 block of South Pine Street, not far from Alabama and South Hackberry Streets.

According to police, a man in his 20s or 30s was driving south on the highway when he drifted across the white line and rear-ended a parked truck. That’s when the driver was ejected from the car, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The impact of the crash pushed the truck across the sidewalk, across a yard and onto the front porch of a home, police said. No other injuries have been reported. The driver of the crash has not been identified.

Authorities said there were no witnesses to the crash.

The San Antonio Police Department, San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all answered the call.

Police said an investigation is ongoing.
