Draeger Safety UK combines reliability with new connection technology in latest addition to its gas detection portfolio

Bryce, U.K., September 20, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — DraegerSafety UK, a leader in safety and medical technology, today launched a new mobile gas detector, the X-am 2800, to add to its broad safety and gas detection portfolio.

With more than 100 years of gas detection expertise, Dräger has developed this new device that measures up to four different gases simultaneously and is suitable for use in confined spaces to protect employees working in oxygen-depleted, explosive atmosphere risk areas, or Where toxic substances may be present.

With an integrated Bluetooth connection, real-time gas readings and alarms can be streamed in real-time to Dräger’s connected cloud solution for gas detection. This enables users to securely access critical data through an internet browser anytime, anywhere.

adam popeDraeger Safety UK Marketing Manager Mobile Gas Measurement commented: “The new X-am 2800 will offer customers the combined benefits of the latest connectivity technology and a host of new features, which means the X-am 2800 is a reliable and robust product.”

Mobile gas detectors are worn on the body, so robustness is key to their functional reliability, the X-am 2800 has been independently drop tested to withstand drops from concrete of more than 2 meters: this is the result of its resilient design.

Another key advantage of the X-am 2800 is that it is suitable for wet environments, as part of its development, the X-am has been tested to the international protection class 68, which measures the resistance of the device to dust and water. This makes it particularly useful for both the utility and energy industries, and when combined with support and service offerings, X-am provides a complete mobile gas solution.

In addition, efficient fleet management is provided by the cloud-connected Dräger X-dock test station, which automates the detector testing and calibration process. All data on testing, calibration and equipment event history can be automatically transferred to Gas Detection Connect and reported to ensure consistency, reliability and accuracy of personnel equipment.

adam pope Added: “Our research shows that the introduction of new technologies, including the use of connectivity, offers considerable opportunities to improve safety in the workplace, providing additional to ensure the safety of employees.”

“The new X-am also supports the company’s sustainability goals, both directly with its reduced packaging and durable long-life sensors, and indirectly through its compatibility with existing X-am accessories.”
