Saban said he didn’t have any substantial updates on the status of last season’s Heisman Trophy winner on Monday. On Saturday night, the No. 1 Crimson Tide takes on Texas A&M.
“Bryce has no updates,” he said. “He’s got a little injury to his shoulder. It’s not a long-term injury.”
Saban speaks before a practice closed to the media.
If Young can’t go, Alabama will turn to Jalen Miro, a dual-threat quarterback who won most of the time, 49-26, and was No. 1 at the time. 20 Arkansas. Young landed on his right shoulder in a scramble and dropped the ball on his way down. He didn’t come back.
Young has passed for 1,202 yards and 14 touchdowns this season with three interceptions. He also ran for 154 yards and threes.

Jahmyr Gibbs ran for 202 yards, including 72 yards and 76 touchdowns in the fourth quarter. The longest, though, came from Milroe.
Gibbs said he never played in the Tide’s backup quarterback game, but Milo did play catcher Kendrick Lowe in the summer.
“It’s a tie,” he said.
