‘Avengers’ star Jeremy Renner says he broke 30 bones in snowplow accident

“The Avengers” star Jeremy Renner said he broke more than 30 bones in a New Year’s Day snowplow accident that kept him in the hospital for more than two weeks.

Renner, who plays superhero archer Hawkeye in the Marvel film and TV “universe,” posted a photo on Instagram with the caption:

“Morning exercises, resolutions have transformed this special New Years…born from the tragedy of my entire family, and quickly focused on uniting actionable love ❤️ I want to thank everyone for their love for me and my family Informative and thoughtful….Love and thanks to all of you so much. These 30+ broken bones will heal and grow stronger, just as the love and bond with family and friends deepens. Love and blessings to all of you .”

Rainer turned 52 in the hospital. His publicist previously told CNN that he was injured by a snowplow while clearing a driveway near his Nevada home, leaving him with “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.”

He underwent two surgeries and is in intensive care.

A transcript of the 911 call obtained by CNN showed that Rainer was “completely crushed by a large snowcat (vehicle)” and that he was “breathing extremely (difficultly).” It continued, “The right side of his chest collapsed – his upper body was crushed.”

Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam previously said Renner’s snowmobile, an engine-powered machine used to clear snow, started rolling when Renner got out of the driver’s seat.
